這時好心人應該會問你要到哪裡？應該搭哪條路線、在哪站下車。於是你問：Can I walk to the World Trade Center from this stop?（我從這站下車能走到世貿中心嗎？）
好心人拋下你趕搭車去了，接下來你得去買票。一般「購票機」ticket machine會標示購票順序，觀光化程度越高的地方，標示就越容易了解，有時甚至以圖案表示，想看不懂都難。但若你還是不會買，沒關係，再找人問：How do I buy a ticket?（請問要怎麼買票？）
How do I use this ticket machine?（我要怎麼用這台購票機？）
Where can I get change?（我要去哪裡換銅板？）
終於買到票，接下來得找對「月台」platform搭車，一般來說，各路線會以顏色及號碼區分，方向則靠「終點站」來判斷，所以你只要依站內指示，找到對的路線及終點站名稱，就能走到正確月台。但你還想確定一下：If I get off here, can I get to the World Trade Center?（從這裡下去搭車，會到世貿中心嗎？）
下了月台，車子快要來了，你不放心是否坐對方向，找個人問：Where does this train go?或Where is this train going?（這班車往哪裡？）
對方跟你確認之後，你忽然想起：聽說「特快車」Express train某些小站不停，於是趕緊再問：Does this train stop at...?（這班車會停……站嗎？）
