1．系统安装与设置
  1）SCO Open Server安装
     SCO Open Server的介质包括BOOT盘和光盘，安装步骤如下：
     首先，将硬盘跳线为0；
    （1）用BOOT盘插入驱动器后开机，屏幕显示：
         SCSI ID #3 CDROM┄┄
         SCSI ID #0 Device C┄┄
    （2）Boot
         ：回车；
         则系统显示
            SCO OpenServer(TM) release 5 ....
            Sizing memory ......
            loading Kernel fd(64) unix.text┄┄
                              unix.data┄┄
                              unix.bss┄┄
.
            loading Kernel symbol this may take a few minutes;
以上显示信息说明UNIX的文本段，数据段和附加段等正从软盘装入内存。
    Press  to begin installation 回车
　　（3）显示一屏系统说明信息，选[continue]；
    （4）在identifying the installation media device屏幕中，
         media device to be used:[SCSI CD ROM]
          SCSI Adapter Type:[alad,Adapte 294X(7870&7880 chip)]
          SCSI Host Adapter:[0]
                   SCSI  ID:[6]
                   SCSI LUN:[0]
                   SCSI bus:[0]
         Accept above choice
    （5）Insert your installation CD_ROM in the CD_ROM drive ...
         插入光盘后选[OK]
　　（6）在selecting a keyboard type 屏幕中，
　　　 　keyboard:[US english]
    （7）在Licensing your system 屏幕中输入license序列号，
         license number: [2DH015566]
         license code  : [mmvgqjjo]
         显示：系统说明信息，选[continue]
    （8）配置基本系统（configuring the basic system）屏幕中，
         system name:[系统名]
         Domain name:[系统名.dom]
         security profile:[traditional]
         time zone:[other],进入下一屏的time zone:[other]
        [manully select]进入下一窗口
        time zone name:[bjt]
        west or east of GMT:[east]
        hours from GMT:[8]
        Language [Standard C (English)]
    （9）Initial system profile [Accept above choice]
    （10）在preparing your disk and choosing software屏幕中，
        Hard disk setup : [interactive fdisk/divvy]
        optinal software: [SCO Openserver Enterprise system,241MB]
    （11）在configuring optinal software屏幕中，
        network card : [deferred]
        network address:[no networking card configured]
        deo and graphics:[IBM VGA]
        mouse : [High Resolution keyboard Mouse]
        Email system : [MMDF]
    （12）在setting your root password屏幕中，输入ROOT口令并确认
    （13）在inlitialization selection屏幕中，选1，继续安装
    （14）当显示
        1. display partition table
        2. use entire disk for unix
        3.
           ......
        7. create partition
        enter your choice or "q" to quit
        选"2"并选"q"退出，使unix占整个硬盘。
    （15）当显示：
        1. scan entire unix partition
        2. scan a specified range of tracks
            ......
        8. Reallocate bad blocks
        enter your choice or "q" to quit.
        如不需要扫描硬盘坏块，可用"q"直接退出。
    （16）按下列要求，创建文件系统并调整其大小
        显示：
* please enter the swap space allocation, or press  to get the    default allocation of 49000 1k blocks:[x],其中x为分配值；
* please enter the boot space allocation, or press  to get ...... :[x],  其中x为缺省值；
        * Do you want a separate /u filesystem :[y]
        enter allocation of 1k block for the /u file system:
* Do you wish to make any manual adjustments to the size or  name ...... ?[y]
       则调整创建文件系统：swap, root, oracle, u, dbf,分别以
            c：创建新的文件系统
            n：定义文件系统名子
            s：定义起始块号
            e：定义结束块号
            t：改变文件系统类型
         若子区不存在(type列，标记为not used),必须首先用"c"创建，
         定义完后，用"q"退出；
       * 文件系划分：（sco 5.0.5 不支持大于73G的硬盘）
          ------ 对于 2G 的硬盘,可按如下分配空间:
           (y)系统引导区  BOOT： 取缺省值(15MB)，0～14999
              数据交换区 SWAP： 200MB(系统创建)， 15000～ 214999
           (y)系统根文件  ROOT： 500MB(系统创建)，215000～ 714999
           (y)用户区      U    ： 300MB(系统创建)，715000～1014999
           (y)数据库系统ORACLE：500MB           1015000～1514999
           (y)数据文件    DBF ： 500MB          ,1515000～2065999
              RECOVER区      : 剩余
        * Please enter your choice  
       * 文件系统(u,oracle,dbf等)的Mount点 回车选缺省值
   （17）在系统提示reboot或关机时，取出软盘及光盘，按任意键reboot或关闭电源；
   （18）安装Open Sever development system(开发工具)
       * 以root用户登录
       * scoadmin --> Software --> Software Manager -->install new
       * 在begin installation on "系统名"屏幕中，
         选from "系统名"，[continue]
       * 在select media屏幕中，
         media device: [SCSI CD-ROM device 0]
       * 在Install selection  on "系统"屏幕中，
         选择[Sco Open Server Development System(Ver 5.1.0Ac)]
         选 [full]
         在license product屏幕中，
            license number: [4CF022940]
            license code :  [brvblafv]
            license data :  [g0;k;marr97d]
        系统显示安装信息；
    （19）网卡配置(以root用户登录)
       # Scoadmin --> networks -->Network Configuration manager
        --> hardware --> Add new LAN adapter
        --> Configure hardware not listed above
        --> 例如选 3Com Etherlink III ISA Combo (3C509-Combo)
       * Search for network adapter [Yes]
       * Warning [OK]
       * Networking Drive Configuration [OK]
       * Information [OK]
       * Add protocol [SCO TCP/IP]  [ADD]
(以太网卡选择TCP/IP协议，Novell网卡选择SPX/IPX协商议)
       * SCO TCP/IP Configuration
           Local Host Name  :系统名
                IP Address :
                Netmask    :
           Broadcast Address:
           Domain Name      :系统名.dom
           TCP Connection   :
           Pseudo ttys      :
           选择 [OK]
       * Configure Networking Product [OK]
       * --> Hardware --> Exit --> Question [Yes]
       * Do you want this kernel to boot by default? (y/n)  [y]
       * Do you want the kernel environment rebuilt? (y/n)  [y]
       * --> File -->Exit
    （20） 增加 unix 用户数(以 root 用户登录)
       # scoadmin --> File --> License Manager --> License
         --> License Additional Users
       * 在 License Additional Users 中
              License Number : 2DC007663
              License Code   : oncthyrh
              License Data   : g0;k;u25;mzbl9me
         选择 [License] (上述为 25 用户的口令)
       * Message [OK]
       * LIcense -->Exit
       * Tune UNIX Kernel [Tune]
       * UNIX Kernel Tuning Status [Ok]
       * Error [OK]
       * Message [OK]
       * File --> Eixt
       * reboot
2）设置终端汉字属性
    在/etc/default下修改lang文件，增加以下几行：
　　LANG=english_us.ascii
    LANG=english_us.8859
    LANG=C_C.c
  需在用户的.profile中加: LANG=english_us.8859；export LANG；
